Hex Battle ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to provide the multiplayer game experience:

• Player name & avatar: The name and avatar emoji you choose when setting up your profile. You control this and can change it at any time.
• Game statistics: Win/loss record, Elo rating, XP, level, and streak data used to power the progression system.
• Device identifier: A randomly generated anonymous ID created on your device the first time you play. This is not linked to your real identity.
• Game activity: Move history and chat messages within active game rooms. Chat messages are only stored temporarily during an active game session.

How We Use Your Information

• To display your profile and stats in-game
• To match you with opponents and maintain active game rooms
• To power the leaderboard and ranked progression system
• To maintain daily challenges and season pass progress

We do not use your information for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond operating the game.

Data Storage

Game data is stored using Firebase Realtime Database (Google), hosted in the United States. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

A copy of your profile is also cached locally on your device using browser localStorage for fast loading. This data never leaves your device except to sync with Firebase.

Data Retention

Player profiles and stats are retained as long as the game is active. Inactive profiles (no activity for 12+ months) may be removed. In-game chat messages are not permanently stored.

Children's Privacy

Hex Battle is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only "personal information" collected is a player-chosen display name — we recommend children use a nickname, not their real name.

Your Rights

You can:

• Change your player name and avatar at any time from the Profile screen
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export your data by contacting us

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google): Real-time database and hosting — Google Privacy Policy
• Google Fonts: Font loading — no personal data transmitted

Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your profile and game preferences locally on your device. No tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or advertising cookies are used.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
